Reflection

WOW!!! It's been a wild few weeks!

Hoping everyone had a blessed and very Merry Christmas! We did!! The boys must have been very good this year, because Santa left alot of nice presents under the Christmas tree.  And the best part ... it was paid for ... IN CASH! That means NO January bills!!! Woot Woot!

Christmas day we spent some time at the in law's house.  Got to see my step sister in laws! I think I was rocking this outfit for sure! I love these girls. Note: Megan is missing from the picture.

Later in the afternoon, we drove through woods and over some hills to Nana's house (my parent's) and spent some time with them.  Noah got the TMNT sewer lair ... which is HUGE! Hunter got the V-Tech ABC train, which he is loving! Christmas evening, Tim and I put the kiddos to bed and got our house back in order! Took the Christmas tree and all Christmas decorations down.

Christmas night (2 am) I woke up sick.  Spent all of yesterday resting.  Back at work today with everything done.  Looking forward to the weekend!!

'Tis the Season

Today I would like to highlight my father and husband! This past weekend, they hosted the 5th annual Toys for Tots Tailgate! Last year, they were able to provide toys, games, books, sporting goods to under privileged children thanks to the generous donation of toys and financial support from local donors.

This year, the CLE Browns vs. CHI Bears tailgate, they were able to feed over 120 Marines a warm, hot breakfast and hearty lunch.  Jay and Tim were able to raise over $2,300.00 in toys and monetary donations!

It was a small token of appreciation to thank the true hero's, the Marines for their tireless work in making our community's children wishes come true for a merry and bright Christmas!

Wonderful Weekend!

WOW! What a weekend!! Friday, Tim and I took the boys to Trattoria Roman Garden for a yummy dinner! We then drove into downtown CLE to look at the lights on Public Square; followed by our annual passage of GE Nela Park on Noble! The boys really enjoyed seeing the lights; but so did Tim and I.  Here are a few pictures.

Saturday was a snowy day; so we spent the day inside watching movies.  We watched Superman: Man of Steel ... which was an AWESOME movie.  Of course no Christmas would be complete without watching Elf (which is 13 years old! YIKES).  Also had a chance to watch Despicable Me 2.  Another awesome movie. Tim and Noah braved the elements and went outside to clean the driveway.  Hunter and I stayed inside. Noah had a BLAST in the snow.

Sunday was a mommy and boys day! My father and Tim tailgated and hosted our annual Tailgate with Troops (Toys for Tots toy drive).  They raised over $2300!!! So proud of my dad and my wonderful husband. The boys and I went to a jewelry party and went into Mentor to finish some Christmas shopping. Here is what happens after you spend a day with mommy shopping for Christmas.

Ha ha!!! Overall it was a wonderful weekend in CLE. Hope you had a chance to make wonderful memories over the weekend.

Brrr!!

Brrr...it is cold out there this morning!! 10* is a bit cold! I can't remember the last time it was this cold in December.  Noah can't wait to get outside and play in the snow! Hoping this weekend it is a bit warmer so I can dress him in his snow pants and turn him loose.  We are taking the boys out tomorrow night for a night on the town.  We will be having dinner at one of my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E restaurants in Little Italy.

I love eating here!! We are taking the boys for a yummy Italian meal and then heading out to look at Christmas Lights; downtown CLE and then GE's Nela Park! It has been a tradition that Tim and I started 13 years ago when we started dating.  It is nice that Noah (and soon Hunter) will look forward to it and ask when we will be able to drive by and see the lights.  It is a breath taking view!

Truly a CLE tradition.

Heart Breakers

After a long, and by long, I mean I worked a 14 hour day yesterday, I came home to my family.  Both boys were sleeping peacefully, dreaming of monster trucks, planes, trains, and automobiles; I asked my husband, how were the boys' day? His response ... stopped me dead in my tracks ... and left my heart hurting.  My little munchie man, Noah, asked his very best (and favorite girl) friend in his class if she would come over to his house to play.  She told him, "No! I don't ever want to come to your house. Ever!"  I looked at Tim, and he continued.  He said that Noah was so hurt; that he began to cry.  This little 4 year old girl is a heart breaker.  She ripped my Noah's heart out of his chest and stepped on it!!! Look at him ... how can you say "no" to him?!

Man, oh man, can girls be ruthless!! I had a nice little chat with him this morning and reminded him to stay happy and want everyone to be his friend.  That sometimes in life, you will come across a person that is mean.  But that he must always remain positive and true to himself.

4 years old ... and already had his heart broke ... by a heart breaker!!

I'm BACK!

Wow! I rediscovered this blog.  Somehow life got away from me.  But isn't that how life is?! Fast forward a little ... now I am a mom of 2 very spirited, super adorable boys (I'm a bit bias ... but that is what mom is for).  Look ... aren't they cute?!

Figured I would get back to blogging ... this might be the best therapy for me!

Preparing for Thanksgiving.  Made 5 loaves of bread for Thanksgiving Day stuffing.  Doesn't the bread look yummy?!

It's going to be a low key Thanksgiving.  It will only be my parent's and my sis with her 2 kiddos.  Simple.  But with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season ... it is often nice to slow down and remember the true meaning behind the holiday.

With that in mind ... I better head to bed.  I have grocery shopping ... house cleaning ... and preparation for the Thanksgiving Day meal to do tomorrow.
