Valentine's Weekend!

Valentine's Day has come and gone ... and the shelves at the stores are getting ready for Easter.  I had an amazing Valentine's Day weekend! Friday, I spent some QT with my two little Valentine's.  We ate cereal and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Super Why, and Jake!!! I was in bed by 10! Saturday, the family unit decided to grab breakfast out.  And then it was back home to do some packing.  We got a lot packed! The master bedroom is packed.  And the living room is too! Saturday evening, my handsome husband took me out for a night on the town.  We had a fabulous dinner at Lockkeepers.  You MUST try it.  I had the most amazing meal.  The atmosphere was romance!

We started by sharing the iceberg wedge.  Tim had the Seafood Fra Diavolo (photo courtesy of Lockkeepers).

I had Tommy's Ravioli.  Oh my! It was heaven!!! The ravioli was bursting with flavor.  We shared the special for dessert.  A decadent cake with strawberry filling with a chocolate frosting with a side of gelato.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant.  I am looking forward to going out there again!

Sunday was a quiet day for the boys and I.  We played and watched some TV.  Monday, I had off and enjoyed sometime with my husband and boys! We rented and watched The Croods.  Our family gives that movie 2 thumbs up!! The whole movie had our family laughing.  It might be one that the Easter bunny will bring! ;-)

Looking forward to the spring preview this week.  I see walks (as long as it is not raining) in my future!!

Be Mine!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

It's been a few weeks; sorry for the delay.  I think the winter of 2014 will go down in history as one of the coldest.  The trouble with cold days, is being cooped up for what feels like ad infinitum. The benefit of being stuck in the house; Pinterest!!! I spent many evening preparing for today!!! Here are some pictures from this morning's Valentine's Day surprises:

Cupcakes for Noah's Valentine's Day party at school.  A cascade of balloons as you enter the kitchen area ... with Valentine's Day treats for my boys ... all 3 of them!!! I made hearts for the boys bedroom doors ... and hearts for them to follow down the stairs to their surprise.  Hunter got a card, Teddy Grahams, a Hershey's chocolate heart, and new Spider-Man PJ's.  Tim got Great Lakes beer, chips, beef jerky, a Reese's Peanut Butter heart, and a card.  Noah got a cards, Hershey's chocolate heart, new Spider-Man PJ's and a special coupon book.  Overall, I think the boys were very excited to see their Valentine's Day surprises!!! 

Looking forward to tomorrow.  Tim will be taking me out for a special dinner at Lockkeepers in Valley View.  I am looking forward to an amazing meal!! 

Now that Valentine's Day is behind me ... it is on to St. Patrick's Day!!!!

NEW CAR!

Tim and I did it! We purchased a new vehicle on Saturday! The new 2014 Honda CR-V EX in Urban Titanium Metallic! Man, it is a beauty! I am in love with all the added extras that Honda has thought of. Like I can personalize my media screen with a photo ... WHAT?! This is a photographers dream come true! We purchased it from Apostolakis Honda/Mazda of Cortland, Ohio. What a wonderful buying experience! Ralph, Aaron, and Gary were great to deal with! I will recommend if you are in the market for a new Honda or Mazda, check out Apostolakis.

Yesterday, the boys and I went to a birthday party! He is a snap shot of the birthday girl and Noah, enjoying a pulled pork sandwich!

It was a cowgirl theme party; Noah got a bandana as part of his treat bag. He wanted to wear it like his mom. LOL! 

So we were pirates ... instead of cowboys/girls!

Can't wait for the snow to STOP! I have had enough of winter. That is for sure.  Stay safe and warm!

CLUNK!

It is happening!! The Saturn is dying ... so begins the car shopping fun! NOT! This is the worst part of getting a new vehicle.  Hopefully I will have a new set of wheels before the end of the month.  The car would not start yesterday.  Thankfully it started today.  The car is 10 years old.  I am a bit misty eye to say the least. One, I will have a car payment again.  Two, the memories.  A trip to OBX in 2006.  An engagement.  A wedding in 2007.  The birth of our first son in 2009 and our second son in 2012. Man the car has seen and been through so much.

Second shift is working well.  The boys are enjoying their time at home with daddy.  It's hard to believe there is only a week left in January.  We have made it our first month!!!

It has been very cold ... so we are stuck inside.  I am hoping that we can get a break in the weather so we can take the boys out exploring.  I am getting stir crazy!!! I need our annual sled outing with my parent's.

New Beginnings!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

WOW! What a week.  Typical week, except for Wednesday, when Tim and I decided to schedule an appointment to look at a new house (apartment).  We went yesterday for a tour.  WOW! This apartment is much bigger than our current home.  Plus there are added benefits to the property.  So we are looking at moving in March or April! Monday we have a meeting with a moving company to get a free quote.  Hey, if I don't have to do this:

I would be a happy camper!!! I dislike moving!!! The boys are excited too for the new beginning.  And that is the most important.  After our tour, we surprised my sister at her new place.  She moved in August, and I finally was able to see her new place and spend some time with her and my niece and nephew.

Looking forward to the quite weekend ... and a long weekend for me!! Relaxing.  Cooking.  Cleaning. Packing.  Maybe a little family fun trip.

Hello Monday!

Why hello there Monday! Nice to see you again!!! Looking forward to a new week and a fresh start to the work week.

Had a peaceful weekend.  Errands on Saturday and absolutely nothing on Sunday.  My kind of weekend. Try my hand at a few all natural; organic; vegan meals.  I have to say ... they weren't bad!! Each dish I made was flavorful and tasty.  It gives a who new meaning to "eating to live ... not living to eat!" Here is what I ate yesterday:

Dinner: wild rice and black bean tacos.

Lunch: whole wheat pita with roasted red pepper humus; spring mix; peppers with a side of snap peas.

Breakfast: Rip's Big Bowl with almond milk.

Our family decided to try and eat healthier.  And I must say ... I am really enjoying it! I felt better this morning when I woke up.  Hopefully this is another positive step in the right director.

Welcome 2014!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Welcome to 2014!! This is going to be a great year!! Why you might ask ...

Because I am going to write one HECK of a book this year.  There is alot of changes going on in our family ... for the better ... and I welcome the change! I look forward to seeing our family evolve into an even better family unit! Most of it, I will not reveal at this time ... but one thing I can share is ... our family has made the decision for me to remain on 1st shift and for Tim to move to 2nd shift.  The boys are no longer in daycare; although, Noah will remain in the preschool program 3 days a week for 2 hours.  It has been a small change in our schedule ... but on the whole ... we seem to all be adjusting well to the change.  This will make things a bit easier on our family ... which will help with the amazing Mekeel Family 2014 Book we are starting to write!

It has been a bit cold (like -14*) for the past couple days.  So we haven't done much then stay in the house.  We did have a little field trip to the CLE Rainforest this past weekend.  The boys had a BLAST!!! Here are some pictures from our wild adventure!
